  • Beatriz Gutierrez is passionate about providing children in her hometown with a vibrant, viable educational opportunity in Lynwood, California. She has worked in education since 2007 and has experience as a Teacher, Instructional Coach, Dean and Principal in both the public charter and district setting as well as the private and international school settings. In founding Soleil Academy, she merged all of her experience to create a school atmosphere that focuses on individualized instruction and uses data to drive day to day instruction. Soleil Academy is a space where children feel safe and experience a joyful and loving learning environment with academic rigor as a priority. Beatriz moved back to her hometown with the sole purpose of creating a school for her community that would provide students an excellent education.

    Beatriz holds a B.A. in Sociology and minored in Education, Psychology, and Spanish from the University of California, Santa Barbara.Description text goes here

  • Ramon Avilez is the Director of School Operations and oversees data & systems, business operations, facilities, school operations, governance, procurement, compliance & enrollment.

    Ramon was born and raised in the city of Lennox, CA. He is a first-generation college graduate whose passion for education inspired him to work for school communities. He strongly believes that providing families with a high-quality public-school option that is focused on high expectations, strong supports, and a scholar-centered education is the best method to bring equity to their community. Before joining Soleil Academy, Ramon was a School Operations Manager for one of the largest charter school networks in California, Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, he was also serving as an operations consultant for organizations such as Amazon and a System Analyst for Raytheon. During his time at these organizations, he designed and implemented systems that would later be used by the entire organization.

    Ramon holds a Bachelors of Science (B.S) in Computer Science from American Intercontinental University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Graziadio Business School, Pepperdine University.

  • Raquel Avina grew up in South Central, Los Angeles. She believes that all scholars deserve a high-quality education and a successful pathway to college, and that it can begin as early as Kindergarten. Mrs. Avina has dedicated over 10 years within charter schools supporting operations. While working for the Los Angeles Conservation Corps with at-risk youth, a program that provides a second chance for youth to complete their high school diploma, Mrs. Avina began to appreciate the work schools and dedicated staff provided to their communities. She continued her career as an administrative clerk and then moved on to lead a founding operations team for a middle school as the School Operations Manager. She is thrilled to join Soleil Academy and support best practices in safety and support the learning environment of our scholars.

    Mrs. Avina obtained her Bachelor’s in Sociology from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

  • Ms. Jocelyn Ayala, our Dean of Instruction for grades TK-1 brings a wealth of experience and dedication, with 8 years of teaching and 4 years as an Assistant Principal and Principal, making this her 13th year in education. Her journey has been rooted in the heart of South Los Angeles, where she's built a deep understanding of our community's unique strengths and challenges.


    Jocelyn is passionate about creating an engaging and enriching environment for our scholars. She’s excited to get to know each of you and your students, and she can’t wait to see the growth and learning that will happen this year. As a leader, Jocelyn is committed to providing all the support you need to help our scholars thrive at this crucial stage in their learning journey. This year is bound to be filled with discovery, creativity, and joy, and Jocelyn will be there every step of the way to guide and inspire us all.

  • Courtney Bradley is a passionate educator who is committed to creating a joyous learning environment where children feel safe, supported, and loved. Her passion for education was ignited while studying creative dance for children at the University of Illinois. Upon graduating, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her teaching career. She is an advocate for arts in education and strives to bring high quality enrichment programs to schools. She is excited to support Soleil Academy with love, creativity, and joy! ​

    Courtney obtained her B.F.A in Dance from the University of Illinois in 2010 and studied creative dance for children.
